It’s been a while since my last post, and I have been feeling guilty for slacking off. Finally I’ve picked up the crochet hooks again and made the Tunisian Ear Warmer (Click here for the free pattern) for the Yarn Club Fundraising. I used Bernat Baby Big Ball Sport Yarn (Color: Blossom) and a 4 mm crochet hook. I followed the free pattern but since I am using a different yarn and a different size hook, I made more than 55 rows as stated in the pattern. I started with chaining 17 (same as the pattern), and crocheted until it measures 20″ long. I made this for a 9-year old, but you can measure the head size and minus 1″ in order to get a better fit (since the yarn will stretch). I like the Tunisian stitches very much and this is what it looks as when completed! Hope you will like it too!
Oh my, it’s been 6 months since my last post. Finally, inspired by a niece’s request, I crocheted a bear that I made a few years ago (see previous post here) but with a different outfit – black tuxedo. Here’s what I made for her:
After that, my 5-year old boy said he loved it and wanted one. Alright alright, I will make another one, and also write up the pattern in case any of you out there would like to make one too So I made the outfit in grey this time.
And of course, my 7-year old girl will not want to be left out. So I decided to make the girl one too, but with a crown instead of a hat this time, and a different dress – a dress with train…I am not done with the front though – still working on the bouquet and will do some more decor on the dress. Here’s the back as a sneak peek (as always, you gotta wait for the bride’s grand entrance, right? ):
I was going to crochet a macaroon metal frame coin purse, but after I sew the metal frame on, it no longer looked the way I expected So I decided to undo it and then made this one instead I might still go back to the macaroon metal frame again when I get a chance.
So how do you like this? I plan to make some more (hopefully before Christmas shopping season is over) and put them for sale in Etsy shortly! Stay tune!
I promised a little girl that I would make her an owl ornament that she saw at my coworker’s office. I didn’t save the pattern (not mine) when I made it for my coworker a while ago, but managed to find it on the website. After I was half way through (about an hour), I felt something’s not right. That’s a small charm and I should have been done within 30 minutes, but how come I was only half done??? Then I checked the website again and realized the designer has two versions for this owl – one is a travel plush (click here for the pattern) that I was working on, and the other one is the baby version (click here for the pattern) I wanted. I didn’t bother to take the half done one apart. Instead I finished it off and gave it to my 3-yr old boy who loves animals. After that I made the baby version for that little girl. I modified the pattern a little bit, but you should definitelly try the patterns out if you crochet coz it’s super easy but cute. So here they are:
I made this a few months ago for a family member, but it got lost on a trip. So now I am working on another one, except I made up the pattern without writing anything down last time. Since I had to start from scratch again, I decided to use star crochet instead of the boring single/double crochet. I should be able to get it done in a couple days. Stay tuned for photos! 🙂
My aunt will be visiting at the end of October and she mentioned she always wanted a shawl. So I decided to make her one and this is the pattern she chose. Click here for instructions on how to make one. Here’s how mine and the original look like.
